When Village Green Preserves upgraded its production facilities recently the main item on the agenda was a Sequence 300/4 labeller. This was selected to apply front and back wraparound self-adhesive labels to the entire range of container shapes and sizes used by the company. Supplied by Sessions of York, the tremendous versatility and robust design of the Sequence has been quick to make its mark by increasing throughput and reducing downtime significantly for the specialist preserves manufacturer.

Chosen because of its user friendly design, flexibility and outstanding engineering, the Sequence lends itself perfectly to the busy and ever-changing production environment at Village Green Preserves. The company’s Managing Director explains: “As there are eight different sizes of containers being filled with hundreds of different products, the fact that we are now able to label directly from the filling line is a huge benefit as it means less product handling and increased throughput.”

The Sequence labelling heads, ancillary motors and drives are speed synchronised enabling the primary conveyor to be adjusted with one simple control. These easy to operate control settings ensure that product or label changes is fuss free and downtime is kept to a minimum.

The automatic front and back labeller is designed to handle oval and conical products as well as cylindrical and rectangular shapes. Easily adjusted for different container heights and formats, the machine accepts random variations of up to 8mm in product height to allow for screw caps being not fully closed.
