Sessions of York reduces
operator intervention with an array of
Print & Apply machinery Pharmaceutical labelling
in areas with a level of radioactivity is a sensitive business, requiring
machines
that are ultra-reliable,
user-friendly and extremely robust in order to keep operator intervention
at an absolute minimum. Sessions of York has recently
met all these requirements, and more, for one of its large pharmaceutical
customers by supplying a number of its SPA 924 print & apply machines
together with a 64-04 thermal transfer printer and an SA 350 applicator.
The production line comprises a bank of four SPA 924 print & apply labellers in twin configuration, printing and applying hazard-warning labels to various sized products. The machines are linked to PLC controllers with automatic pack recognition, eliminating the need for the operator to initiate format changes when required. Once sealed, the packs are labelled with final destination details by a fifth SPA 924 print & apply machine. Finally, pre-printed consignment identification labels are applied by the Sessions SA350 applicator. The production line is fully automated with a sophisticated software programme that tracks every product’s progress along the line. In addition, the Sessions systems are completely integrated and networked, virtually eliminating operator involvement. |
