SESSIONS INSTALL BESPOKE TOP AND BOTTOM LABELLER AT MAJOR CHILLED MEATS SUPPLIER

Versatility, reliability and compact size are key features of Sessions of York labeller

When major supplier of chilled meats to multiple retailers, Parkam Foods Ltd took on a new product line, the company automatically turned to Sessions of York to install a bespoke top and bottom labeller. Modelled on the popular Spectrum 115, the versatile and cost-effective system is being used for continuous, top and bottom labelling of shrink-wrapped packs of meat.

The modified Spectrum labeller incorporates thermal print facility and ultra compact size makes it ideal for production environments where space is at a premium. Controlled from one remote panel, ease of use is another key benefit of the machine.

A spokesperson for Parkam Foods comments: “When the new product line was introduced, we needed to invest in a robust, versatile, and most importantly reliable labelling application that would print and label accurately at high speeds. Sessions of York custom built the compact unit enabling consistent label application in different widths and directions, to the top and base of the packs. The major benefit is the machine is configured to our exact requirements - we simply adjust the setting on the control panel as required for each different sized product.”

Additional Spectrum features include variable speed run capability and robust stepper motor drive. Mounting of printers or accessories is made possible with variable module rail lengths.

Sessions supplies the Spectrum in two widths – 115mm and 195mm – and it can be fitted with a hot foil coder for overprinting variable information such as date, batch and best before data at the point of labelling.
