SESSIONS PROVIDES LABELLING SOLUTION FOR BIRDS EYE WALLS ON-PACK PROMOTIONS

Labelling benefits prompt Birds Eye Walls to purchase rented Spectrum 115 labelling system

Underpinning further its reputation as one of the most versatile and cost-effective labelling systems, the Spectrum Labeller 115 has been installed at one of the plants operated by Birds Eye Walls. The machine was originally rented by this major food manufacturer for a short-term promotion labelling fish fingers but its benefits proved so great Birds Eye Walls decided to purchase the equipment for other ongoing promotional projects.

The Spectrum is renowned for its reliability and ease of use through its touch screen control panel making it the obvious labelling choice for our variable promotional needs,” explains a Birds Eye Walls Packaging Engineer. “Sessions was able to deliver the machine within a week and, because of its simplicity, it was soon up and running because it required minimal training.”

Running a promotion prior to the installation of the Spectrum would have meant changing the artwork on cartons. Engineered for maximum efficiency, the labeller’s design makes interfacing with Birds Eye Wall’s current 13 lines quick and easy. With a powerful stepper motor drive and variable speed up to 50 metres/mm, the Packaging Engineer highlights the key benefits of the Spectrum: “We no longer have to change the pack graphics and are able to print and apply up to 15,000 promotional labels an hour. Using this versatile labeller has improved our production turn around times and reduced costs significantly”.

Other Birds Eye sites have shown a keen interest in the Sessions unit as its compact size and design allows the unit to be moved around easily and used where space is at a premium.

Sessions supplies the Spectrum in two widths - 115mm and 195mm - and it can be fitted with a hot foil coder for overprinting variable information such as date, batch and best before data at the point of labelling.
