Sessions of York has responded to the rigorous requirements of the financial, security and direct mail industries with the development of the SL380 high speed labeller. The SL380 is designed to apply a transparent self-adhesive label over high security printed areas providing a tamper evident laminate, which would inhibit the alteration of the print and ensure that any attempt to remove the label would damage the document beyond use.

Operating at linear line speeds in excess of 100 metres/minute or 40 labels per second, the SL380 can apply labels with extremely fine tolerances. Being encoder linked to the main conveyor, the SL380 can ramp up automatically in conjunction with the machine’s preset speed on start up without losing registration. The SL380 is also able to detect transparent labels with its ultra sonic label scanning system.

Perfect web control can be achieved by means of photocell-controlled web tracking and tensioning, ensuring effective label application over the desired print area.

With motor controls synchronising both the reel holder and rewinder registration of within 1mm can been maintained even at high speeds. With a user-friendly control system making the machine easy to operate, the 400mm reel holders on the SL380 ensure minimum down time for changeover.

Sessions SL380 can be used in web print houses where on-web application is a growing sector, providing added value to print production.
