company’s need
When dynamic healthcare company Vernon-Carus required a highly accurate labelling machine to apply self-adhesive labels to its theatre packs, Sessions of York responded with the installation of its Multi-Track Cross Web labeller. As a major supplier to the NHS, Vernon-Carus required a labeller able to handle its rigorous traceability requirements and the Multi-Track was up to the challenge. The highly cost-effective Multi-Track Cross Web Labeller comprises two labelling units mounted side-by-side. The doubled-headed machine has one shared dispensing beak, feeding labels in a pre-determined format onto the cross web transport conveyor, which is PLC-linked to the primary conveyor. Due to the innovative dual track configuration
of the system, the number of labels placed during indexing pauses is
increased with both the products
to be labelled and the pattern in which they are conveyed, quickly and
easily changed. Labels are applied firmly but gently by the ‘kiss
touch’ method, which provides excellent adhesion without the risk
of product damage. By using the Multi-Track’s software programme, a large number of label formation combinations can be instantly and easily selected and printed on to piggyback labels. The spokesperson continued: “Sessions provided us with a first-class labelling applicator and excellent quality piggyback labels. The piggyback labels are used when all or part of the label needs to be re-applied elsewhere, onto patient’s notes for example. The label quality is absolutely brilliant and our customers think they are wonderful.” The spokesperson concluded: “Sessions of York provided an excellent service. The ethos of the company is excellent, both friendly and professional. The technical help and back up is outstanding and they are always available to tackle any questions. Sessions has made a huge difference to our business - they have given us another weapon in our armour over our competitors!”
