Handling and accurately labelling both sides of lightweight medical skin patches poses a difficult problem for pharmaceutical companies. Drawing on its unrivalled in-house expertise, Sessions of York has come up with an efficient and cost-effective solution by designing a customised one pass labelling system. The Sessions unit controls the flimsy packs using an intermittent feeder and, once the first label is applied, the pack is flipped over automatically ready for the second label. Sessions specially designed the turning device, which operates at speeds up to 120 packs per minute. The skin patch labeller is highly flexible and user-friendly as it is built on two Sessions Spectrum labellers. These well-proven units feature simple touch pad controls and inherent memory setting. Stepper motor driven, the system can be interfaced with a hot foil printer and is encoder linked to the primary conveyor speed ensuring consistently accurate label placement. |
