SESSIONS REPORTS SUCCESS IN THE DAIRY MARKET WITH MULTI-LAYER LABELS

Ravens Oak Dairy selects versatile on-pack labels for small cheeses

Sessions of York, one of the UK's major manufacturers of self-adhesive labels, is producing Multi-layer labels for Ravens Oak Dairy. The on-pack labels, which have two re-sealable layers, are being used to display information relating to cows, goats and buffalo cheeses.

A Ravens Oak spokesperson says: "Our 100g individual cheeses are so small we needed a way of getting all the information about them on to the pack. Sessions has been able to provide us with the answer in the form of its Multi-layer label. The labels not only explain that our cheeses are organic and GM free, but also highlight how the cheese is actually made.

"This label solution has solved our lack of space problem perfectly and it's all thanks to Sessions. The company has been brilliant, from the telephone support to our sales representative the service has been excellent, so good in fact I have recommended the company to colleagues who are now also using them."

Sessions has been involved with the manufacture of the labels since the dairy moved into the production of cheese to help optimise its output. At first the company was using write-on labels but, at the suggestion of Sessions, this has since been changed to a glossy, coloured, Multi-layer label featuring the Ravens Oak logo.

The Multi-layer label lis a two-layer construction with layers that can be peeled off easily or just peeled up to reveal extra information. In this dairy application there are two layers but the Sessions label is also available with three times the copy space for printing promotional messages and consumer information. In addition, the Multi-layer label is ideal where a variety of languages are required. The top layer can be hinged or removable.

Sessions is the sole supplier to the dairy and is geared to provide labels with extremely short lead times. The company is also supplying plain white and small coloured labels which are used as tamper evident seals for pots of cheese. The versatile Multi-layer labels are supplied on reels and applied manually by the dairy at the end of the production process.
