KILLER LABELS FROM SESSIONS

Sessions of York supplies striking labels for Insect and Wasp Killer

Sessions of York has produced a striking and functional series of labels for one of the UK's largest names in effective pest control, Rentokil. First approached to provide labels for a multinational DIY retailers for a range of ant/insect and wasp killers, Rentokil was so pleased with the look and performance of the labels, it enlisted Sessions to produce some of its own brand labels.

Sessions worked very closely with Rentokil to come up with the ideal solution for its 150g and 300g Ant & Insect Killer and Wasp Killer products. Before speaking to Sessions, Rentokil had favoured direct screen printing on to the plastic containers but had begun to find that the barcodes were becoming obscured in the process. Looking for an alternative, Sessions provided two options for the self-adhesive labels using either paper or film.

After making up samples and running extensive trials under normal service conditions to find the best solution, Rentokil opted for the filmic labels. During testing it was found that the paper labels tended to wrinkle when the plastic containers expanded and contracted when filled with the cold powder, and the same happened when the containers were squeezed. The give of the filmic labels successfully overcame these issues.

The self-adhesive labels are printed in three colours with a gloss varnish on a gloss white film - giving them a striking appearance on shelf and ensuring the extensive usage information and statutory conditions are clear and legible. In addition, Sessions used its state-of-the-art sequential number printing facilities to print the required barcodes.

Sessions of York is acknowledged to be one of the UK's leading and most progressive manufacturers of self-adhesive labels and labelling equipment. The company supplies an extensive range of high performance labelling machines, which are available ex-stock or can be custom built to suit individual requirements. Sessions are also able to provide on-site equipment demonstrations if required.
