Sessions of York has once again showed its flexibility and diversity to the market by applying its expertise to a range of visually appealing and cost effective promotional entry tickets.

A design and promotions agency that handles the promotion of a range of tourist attractions approached Sessions due to their expert reputation for supplying quality, and value for money. The latest project, which is a new national icon, soaring 170 metres into the sky above the harbour of Portsmouth, visitors can glide to the top of the tower in style, using the panoramic lift, and walk on the largest glass floor in Europe.

Whilst Sessions’ multi-colour label presses major on the manufacture self-adhesive labels of all types, for this project, the company was able to offer double-sided, non-adhesed cards with process printing and spot colours on both sides. With enormous visual appeal, these entry tickets are also a keepsake for the customer, inspiring memories and hopefully prompting ultimately their return.

The company applied their flexibility and expertise to this new application, producing a cost effective and appealing way of ticketing the attraction, using their multi-colour combi-rotary presses to produce the visually appealing tickets. Supplied in reels, the tickets were perforated to help facilitate distribution.

The ticket is given to the visitor on entry to the attraction. This is then handed to the staff as proof they have paid, a small mark is placed onto the top of the ticket and then handed back to the customer, who can keep the printed ticket as a souvenir of their ride on the panoramic lift.

Utilising striking UV cured inks and a range of white and tinted cards, a very aesthetically pleasing effect was achieved - making it an ideal process for manufacturing reel fed tickets. The spot colours and varnishes not only make the ticket more appealing, but also durable and hardwearing, allowing the customer to take it home as a souvenir of their adventure up into the skies.
