Home > Editorial Intro > Index When an exclusive luxury lifestyle store Tann Rokka needed high-quality printed, fragrance test cards for its own ‘Kisu’ perfume in a hurry, it was personal recommendation that determined where the job was placed. With ‘Kisu’ about to make its debut appearance at Liberty in London, a fragrance producer suggested Sessions of York as the right company to meet the tight deadline and achieve the high quality result needed. Reaction to the Sessions test cards has been very positive as explained by a Tann Rokka director: “The Sessions test card has been very well accepted. People love the card and printed design and when testing Kisu will frequently put it into their bag to keep.” Experienced in printing test cards and strips for many high profile fragrances, Sessions was the ideal choice for this prestigious project. The Kisu artwork was taken from an existing brand image picture and created in watercolours. The first task was to digitise the image by scanning it. Sessions produces the high-quality work it has a reputation for by minimising the number of intermediate stages in the printing process. Today, Sessions is one of a handful of companies to use Direct Imaging, a method in which a computer etches the digitised image onto the printing plates in situ, on the rollers of the press. The advantages of this method include fast lead times, perfect registration and reduced printing set-up costs. Kisu is a blend of ylang-ylang, bois de rose and cedar wood. The name of this exotic fragrance means ‘kiss’ in Japanese. |
